明治31年東京・浅草生れ。14歳で鏑木清方に日本画を師事、巽画会、
郷土会で活動を続ける。芸艸堂版は昭和20年頃より版行をはじめ、
100点近くの作品を発表。日本各地を題材とした作品は近年再評価
されています。
輪郭となる主版（骨板）のオリジナル版木のみ現存し、色板を復刻し
再摺した作品です。
（当時摺られた版画（初摺り）は海外などで高値で売買されています）

Shiro Kasamatsu was a student of Kaburagi Kiyokata.
In the 1950s he published bird and animal prints, landscapes
and "famous views" with the publisher Unsodo - alltogether
more than 100.
The print is only the main woodblock remains,
and the color plate is newly carved.
Shiro Kasamatsu worked in Shin Hanga and Sosaku Hanga style.
