内容紹介 The indisputable father of what is known today as Latin Jazz, Mario Bauza recorded "Afro-Cuban Jazz" in 1986, reuniting some of the greatest figures of this genre. Paquito d'Rivera (alto & soprano sax), Jorge Dalto (piano), Patato Valdes (congas), Jose A. Fajardo (flute), Ignacio Berroa (drums), Graciela Grillo (vocals) and Claudio Roditti (trumpet), were only some of the exceptional musicians that graced this masterpiece. Product Description Bauza was a Highly Talented Section Player in the Havana Philharmonic Until He Moved to New York City in 1930. He Became Musical Director of the Chick Webb Orchestra and Helped Convinced Webb to Hire Ella Fitzgerald as his Lead Singer. He Went on to Play with Don Redman and Cab Calloway, Convincing the Hi De Ho Man to Hire Dizzy Gillespie in his Orchestra. In 1941, He Took Over as Musical Director of Brother-in-law Machito's Orchestra, Encouraging the Bandleader to Incorporate Solos Into his Arrangements.
